Evidence order

Four layers of evidence, starting closest to you

Confirm the request and address first, then check the sending queue, inbox rules, and message content. Record the time after each layer and avoid changing multiple variables at once.

01

Did the request actually succeed?

Check that the page clearly confirms the send succeeded, then use developer tools or service logs to verify that the request was not rate-limited, rejected, or interrupted.

02

Does the address match exactly?

Check the copy process, leading or trailing spaces, domain spelling, and the current address validity period. If the address changed, requests from the old page will not move automatically.

03

Did the queue create a delivery record?

Look for the message ID, queue time, rejection reason, and next retry in the sending service. Without a message ID, return to the application trigger path.

04

Are inbox or content rules blocking it?

Check spam, quarantine rules, bounces, sender-domain authentication, and template size. A test address can help distinguish personal inbox rules from sending-side issues.

Time windows

Take different action in each wait window

These windows define an action sequence, not a promise. The actual state of the sending system, network, and receiving service is shown in the logs.

0–2 minutes

Leave the page alone

Most requests need time for the queue and inbox to refresh. Repeated clicks at this stage are the easiest way to create multiple valid codes.

2–5 minutes

Check the address and spam folder

Confirm the address is valid and the request succeeded, then check the service status. Do not change the email address and resend at the same time.

5–10 minutes

Resend only once

If there is no clear failure, resend once and note the new time. Use the latest code; the old one may become invalid.

Over 10 minutes

Stop retrying blindly

Investigate the message ID, bounce, authentication, and rate-limit status. Repeated resends usually do not fix configuration problems.

Independent check

Use an independent address to verify that the sending path works

Create a test inbox, trigger the same verification email, and check its subject, time, and body in the inbox.
